We
are happy to announce that we are
The latest news about the New Mexico restaurant was in the December 9, 2004 issue of the Sangre de Cristo Chronicle. Click here to find out the most recent developments. More news will be on this site as soon as it is available. The owner and employees of Texas Reds want to thank all the devoted friends and customers that we have had the good fortune to know over the past 37 years. See article about the fire from Taos News, November 4, 2004. Below you can see what the building used to look like and, Lord willing, might look like again. If you never had the opportunity to experience the first incarnation of Texas Reds, you missed what a lot of people have described as a magical time and place.
Since Thanksgiving, 1967, Texas Reds has served the best and freshest food, at a very reasonable price, along with generous portions of friendly service and "old west" atmosphere. You can't help but have a good time when you put those elements in a beautiful resort destination like Red River, NM. Texas Reds Steakhouse has become a destination unto itself. The number one question asked of the Red River Ski Area marketing manager while on his annual tour of the Southwest is, "Is that upstairs restaurant where you throw peanut shells on the floor still in Red River?" We constantly get
emails and calls from people all over the country who are planning a
trip to northern New Mexico and want to be sure they can have dinner
at Texas Reds sometime during their trip.
